My second home?!

Sometimes I can't help but think that with all the time I spend at Kid to Kid, I am really living another life. I mean every super hero has a secret. Clark Kent is not only a newspaper reporter, but also Superman. Peter Parker may only look like a student, but he also swings from the town as Spiderman. I may be Kaitlyn Manscill, but I also live a life of saving all those parents from piles of clothes that their kids have out grown! Its no easy job dealing with crazy parents. (ya ya I know, I am quite the super hero, just with out the cape!)

I really do love my job. It really has become like a second home to me (in a weird bizarre work kind of way). Corrie, the manager, is simply the best. Her little 3 year old girl, my new best friend, is so adorable, epically when she answers the phone," what up gangsta'? The two other girls that work there are super sweet. You just can't beat it. I do spend most of my time there, working about 40 hours a week, but I enjoy it. It is a very chill job, but I keep busy, (or I should be, but I thought taking picture was more fun at the moment.) It's such a great place to work and been such a blessing!

Here are a few pictures of my adventure, (or break time I should say hehe)

Mail mail and more mail

It comes everyday, 6 days a week,
At the hour of 10 the mail truck drives up my street.
He brings many letters from anywhere you can think,
Filling my mail box to the point it might sink.
Letters from family, and bills not yet paid,
Mountains and mountains of piles they have made.
I'm up to my eye balls in piles of mail,
Newspaper ads, and the latest new sale.
I wish the mail man would take a break for a week,
But I look out the window and see him drive up my street.

As you can see I have been a bit lazy in opening the mail. But in my defense most of it is my brothers, they just never pick it up. It just keeps multiplying. My brother put me in charge of the mail which I think is funny. I have no idea what I am looking for. Lets just hope I don't missing anything or throw anything important away. Good thing my parents can look everything up online (right Mom haha).

Take Time To

I walked into our front room and I found this and I absolutely loved it...

Take time to...
WORK
it is the price of success
PLAY
it is the secret of perpetual youth
THINK
it is the source of power
READ
it is the fountain of wisdom
PRAY
it is conversation with God
LAUGH
it is the music of the soul
LISTEN
it is the pathway to understanding
DREAM
it is hitching your wagon to a star
WORSHIP
it is the highway of reverence
LOVE ET BE LOVED
it is the gift of God

A place in this wold

Change, the only constant thing in my life right now. Since graduation all that has been thrown into my life is change. Everything seems to be changing around me while I stay put, but in the smallest way all this change has had the biggest effect on me. It has been a very hard 6 months and I may have had a few melt downs, but I have grown so much as person.

As I have been making plans for my future, I cant help but think if I am making the right choice. My plan was to attend SUU next August, but just last night I was having doughs once again. My friends are home for the weekend from SUU, and as they talk about all their friends and everything that happens, I cant help but think if I will be able to fit into this life of theirs. Will I ever has such as good a friendship as they have? I don't want to have to be fit into their lives, be scheduled in, or feel like a burden to them. My heart is, and has been, so set on going to SUU I just don't know if I should take this huge leap.

Last night driving home from Jenny's house, this song came on my IPod that I feel sums up everything, and I thought I would share the first little bit of the song. Its by Taylor Swift and its called "A Place in this World."

I don't know what I want, So don't ask me, cause I'm still trying to figure it out.
Don't know what's down this road,
I'm just walking.
Trying to see through the rain coming down.
Even though I'm not the only one,
that feels the way I do.

Got the radio on, my old blue jeans,
And I'm wearing my heart on my sleeve. Feeling lucky today, got the sunshine.
Can you tell me what more do I need?
And tomorrow's just a mystery, oh yeah,
but that's okay.

I'm alone, on my own, and that's all I know.
I'll be strong, I'll be wrong,
Oh, but life goes on.
Oh, I'm just a girl, trying to find a place in this world.

Right now I don't really know what I want, and I am just trying to figure that out. On of my favorite quotes comes from the movie Kung Fu Panda, and it sums up everything, "Yesterday is history, tomorrow's a mystery, and today is a gift, that's why it's called the present." I just need to take this gift and run with it, my road is clear and a mystery, and I just need to uncover it, and see what's in store for me and where I fit in. After all, I am just a girl, trying to find a place in this world.

Goals

Last night I looked back on the past week and realized how lazy I have been. Aside from school and work I don't have any other goals to work on. Maybe goals is not the best word, but activities or hobbies to keep me busy, and a better way to spend my time other then wondering around the house bored. Here is what I came up with...

1. Blogging, a few nights ago I watched the Movie Julie & Julia, and I loved the fact that Julie blogged about her experience cooking her way through Julia's cook book. I am not going to cook my way through a cook book or anything to exciting, but I thought I could keep up on my blog.
2. Develop my talents, I love playing the piano, and the other day I realized I play the same couple of songs over and over (I am sure my family is sick of hearing the same songs). My inability to read note has held me back from learning all the songs I wish to learn, but if I take the time and really try and focus and practice I am hoping to learn a few new songs.
3. Cooking, as my parents have moved away and I have learned to live on my own I cant help but realize I have no cooking skills. I should take this opportunity to learn to cook. I am sure my brother would appreciate a gook cooked meal every so often.

So for the next couple of weeks I am hoping I can work on these activities/hobbies and spend my time more wisely, and learn to better my life.

Road Trip!!!

We had our Fall break this weekend and what better way to spend it then taking a road trip down to Cedar City to visit my good friends Jenny and Alyssa. Kristee, Jamie and I considered it our senior road trip we never took, although I did go to DC for my senior trip. We did so many fun things while we were down there. The first day we were there we went to a D.I. institute dance. We dressed up in crazy clothes (thanks to Alyssa's crazy taste in clothes) and went and took over the dance floor. Afterwards we went back to Jenny and Alyssa's place and watched a movie, and stayed up till about 3 talking. The girls still had school on Friday, so while they were at school Kristee, Jamie, and I drove around town finding things to do. We found a cool ice cream place called Maggie Moo's. It was a lot like Cold Stone. Later that day we went on a hike with Jenny and Alyssa's neighbors. (we made fast friends with all of Jenny and Alyssa's friends, it was like we had know eachother since school started) It was such a fun hike, although the boys made us run most of it, and after the hike we had a fire. We played some volleyball with our new friends and went hot tubbing. After all the fun excitment we watched a movie and stayed up till about 5 listening to Kurtis play the guitar. Our plan was to go to St. George the next day, but we all slept in till 1:00pm. Our last day there we went to a old ruin coal mine and played around there for a while, then we went to Park Discovery (its just like the park Discovery Park we have here). The last hour we had left I was trying to think of ways to say longer, and everyone wanted us to stay, even our new friends we had made, but I had to get Kristee and Jamie home. It was so much fun and just the trip I needed, and I love hanging with the girls. I cant wait till our next road trip down there.

A little bit of everything

My college life is not really that exciting. Mom keeps telling me I don't email her enough to let her know what is going on, and I don't, but I really don't do much other then school and work. But this week has had a bit more excitement. Earlier this week my friend Jamie and I went and flew kites. It was the perfect day the fly a kite, and something that we have wanted to do for a while. To top that day off we threw a surprise party for Colby's birthday. We had many Tim Tams, and by the time I went home I was covered in cake. Yes what kind of party, for Colby, would it be with out a cake fight. When Wednesday rolled around my few friends I have at the moment (Kristee and Jamie) realized we needed to do something. We got together and got our favorite hot chocolate at Walkers and a muffin and watched a movie. In Dallan's words we were "party animals." Ok well maybe not really party animals, but Dallan told us how to be party animals, since he is the biggest party animal of all (going to bed at 6:00 and all he really knows how to party it up). Over all this week has been a good week. Beats sitting at home or at school all day.
